Adam Morse Parmenter

Born Lansing, Illinois on 27-February-1965
Called To Christ:
II Timothy 3:15 " . . . from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus."
I was born into a family that loved the Bible and ministry in the local church, and I was saved at the age of four. Church was our second home and we were there as a family throughout the week participating in services, Sunday school, choir, and other events. Later as an older teen, I helped lead prayer meetings, church services, youth group, and teach Sunday school. God used my parents as well as the men and women at this church to teach me about living for Jesus. They loved me as I was and nurtured in me a love for God and serving in His church.
As a young adult I moved to a suburb of Chicago, Illinois and was a member of a Baptist General Conference church called Church of the Redeemer. I was active leading youth group, singing in choir, and teaching Sunday school, yet my faith was also pulled by worldly temptations. My church family loved me enough to disciple me through foolish decisions and towards maturity in Christ. My wife Marge and I got to know each other leading youth Bible Study while serving in this church and our friendship grew to love and marriage. Marge and I were married in 1991 at Church of Redeemer in Chicago, IL. Throughout our married life we have pursued ministry as "tent makers", ministering in addition to having a paid job on the side.
I am a licensed minister. Licensed to preach by Bethel Baptist Church, Kalamazoo, MI. I am considered a "lay minister" as I have not attended seminary and am not ordained. My training has come through a Paul / Timothy relationship between myself and the senior pastor of our home church. I have preached at Bethel and in
churches throughout the Midwest, and have also spoken at Christian schools. A key ministry for me at Bethel has been one-on-one mentoring of young men and children.
I am currently working as a technical writer with
Aerotek Staffing who have me placed at
Stryker Instruments in Kalamazoo, MI. From 2008 to 2010 my family and I were pre-field missionaries with ABWE, and from 2002 to 2010 I as a compliance professional at Pfizer in Kalamazoo, MI. My job at Pfizer was to make certain that the design and test documentation for pharmaceutical technicology met regulations and were defensible to the regulatory agencies. I have also managed projects and trained/mentored coworkers.
Outside of Pfizer my family and I have enjoyed serving at our home church, Bethel Baptist. During our time there I've:
Taught Sunday school
Written Sunday school curriculum
Worship leader for both children and adults
Discipled adults and children
Organized outreach events
I also dabble in public speaking/training and like to sing.
