Called To Christ:

I was raised in a Christian home and heard the gospel as a child, but did not turn to the Lord until the age of 30. Through a severe depression in my late 20's, God made me aware of my need for God. I started to read the Bible and attended a class on the four gospels - an evangelistic outreach at a local high school. In class, I was convicted and confessed my sin to the Lord. I finally realized there was nothing I could do to earn God's favor and I needed to accept God's grace and salvation for my sin. A key verse for me is in Ephesians 2:8-9 "For it is by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God, not by works, so that no one can boast." I was baptized in 1988 and God started to work on the sanctification process in my life, for Christ to be the Lord of my life.
